BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

Three Florida residents died Tuesday in a seven-vehicle pileup on Interstate 95 northbound, near Brunswick.

The wreck happened about 3 p.m. near Exit 29 for U.S. 17. Three tractor-trailers, an SUV, two cars and a pickup towing an RV were involved.

The Georgia State Patrol says the car Rocco Burso, 80, and his wife Heydi Burso, 76, were traveling in was pinned under a tractor-trailer. They died at the scene.

Reinhold Steinhilber, 71, was behind the wheel of an SUV involved in the wreck. He died in an ambulance on the way to a local hospital.

I-95 northbound was closed for nearly five hours after the wreck.

The State Patrol is investigating the wreck. Right now, troopers believe it was caused by the driver of a semitruck who was going too fast for conditions and drove over the Bursos' car.

The driver of that semi may face charges, according to the State Patrol.
