SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Prosecutors in the trial of a man charged with the murder of an 18-year-old woman have been trying to shoot holes in the defense's case.

An investigator with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has just testified that blood found in Cheley's house belongs to Deloach.

The judge just ordered a recess until Thursday morning after that testimony from the GBI investigators.

Shan Cheley, 37, is charged with murder in the September 2012 death of 18-year-old Amber Deloach.

Cheley's girlfriend Makiel Moody was first to testify Wednesday morning. Prosecutors questioned her about Cheley's work schedule and if he had gone to work that Saturday.

Cheley worked at Coach's Corner, a sports bar in Savannah. Several co-workers testified Tuesday evening about how Cheley had not gone to work the day that Amber Deloach died. He told his co-workers that it was because his daughter had a miscarriage.

When Moody took the stand, she said his daughter did have a miscarriage but she says he didn't say anything about that on Sept. 30.

But Cheley's girlfriend took the stand Wednesday morning and painted a different picture. She said, it's true his daughter had a miscarriage but when that actually happened- she didn't know.

Moody testified that she didn't recall him telling her that she had a miscarriage that week and he didn't mention anything that weekend about his daughter having a miscarriage.

Johnna Lawson, a forensic technician with the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police testified about searching Cheley's house. They used a chemical throughout the house called Blue Star. When the lights are turned off, areas that possibly contain DNA evidence will glow in the dark. There were several areas of the house that glowed including the downstairs bedroom and bathroom.

The jury also heard from Michael Burnett who was in jail with Cheley. He said Cheley talked to him about what happened the day Deloach died.
