SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Lt. Rick Hall, of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, was denied bond at an arraignment hearing Monday morning.

CCSO received a complaint about Hall in early December and Internal Affairs launched an investigation. Enough evidence was available and a search warrant and arrest warrant for him, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Both warrants were executed at his home on Wilmington Island Friday night.

Hall was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated child molestation. He has been suspended without pay pending further investigation.

"There was a previous complaint filed against Hall in 2008, but the investigation failed to produce sufficient evidence to prosecute", according to the news release.

The investigation was a joint effort between the CCSO and the Chatham County District Attorney's Office, with technical assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Hall joined the CCSO in 1985 and has been a lieutenant since 2007.

Anyone with more information about the case can contact the Chatham County Sheriff's Office's Internal Affairs Division at 912.665.9610.
