Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police helped families have a Christmas to remember.
Central Precinct Officers were collecting clothing, toys, food and gift cards all month long. They loaded up all of the donated materials and delivered them to families in need.
They surprised a single mom and her three children on Monday. They even put up a Christmas tree.
"We spend every day out here trying to enforce the laws and improve the quality of life and in the process we run across people who are in need," said Savannah-Chatham Metro officer Capt. Devonn Adams. "The police officers really came together this holiday season, starting with Thanksgiving and now ending with Christmas, and we're just trying to give back to the community and make sure everybody has a joyous holiday."
Officers delivered presents to four families in the Central Precinct this year.
