Shoppers say Christmas Eve shopping was easy

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

It seems like most shoppers did all their Christmas shopping early this year, according to retailers. Not many last minute shoppers rushing to the stores this Christmas Eve.

Retailers say it was a steady day, but not overly crowded with people rushing to get things they may have forgetten.

Experts say the reason for that could be the longer hours they had this year. Some stores stayed open for 24 hours straight, and stores like Macy's have been open since Sunday, which gave shoppers a lot of time to get what they needed early.

And don't forget some of the amazing deals some places had early on in the season.

All in all it made Christmas Eve one of the easiest shopping days of the year.

"I got right in, went in line, got what I had ordered online picked it up and got right out, so I was very happy with that," said Christy Duke.

Many stores closed at 6 p.m., but Toys r' Us is open until 9 p.m.
