(RNN) - A new year is here and with it, 12 months of new music awaiting us.

If you haven't heard from your favorite artist in a couple of years, 2014 is shaping up to be a good one for your ear buds - and bad for your bank account (Sorrynotsorry).

Here's a look at albums releasing in the new year.

For sures:

Switchfoot - An obvious way to blow some of those iTunes cards you got for Christmas is with Jon Foreman and Company's first album in since 2011. Switchfoot's Fading West has an inked release day of Jan. 14.

Toni Braxton/Babyface - It's your '90s R&B dream come true: a Toni Braxton/Babyface duets album. After being pushed back from its initial release date, Love, Marriage and Divorce officially lands Feb. 4.

Candice Glover - The Season 12 American Idol winner, the first female winner since 2007, pushed back her album its scheduled Sept. 2013 release date. Fans waiting for her debut can finally pick it up on Feb. 8.

From the "Sure to happen, we're just not sure when" files ...

Ed Sheeran - Sheeran tweeted in December that he's wrapped up recording his follow up to 2011's +. He's expected to release something before the summer.

Tessanne Chin - When you win a singing reality show, record labels want to strike while the momentum is there. Season 3 winner of The Voice Cassadee Pope was crowned in December 2012 and released her first album Frame By Frame in October 2013. Expect a similar track from the commanding voice from Jamaica and Season 5's newly-crowned winner.

Maybes?

Foo Fighters - The new Foos album has been written, or so said Dave Grohl in August.

Frank Ocean - Ocean promised he wouldn't drop new music until summer 2014. But little else has been said about a follow up to 2012 channel ORANGE, which received high praise from critics and took home a Grammy for best urban contemporary album.

Taylor Swift - T. Swift has made a game of dropping hints throughout her career ... and she dropped a big one to Entertainment Weekly recently, saying "A great deal of what will happen this year has to do with what will happen this next month."

"It usually takes me a year to shed the last album's sound and start anew. And this one just started on new territory," Swift told the magazine.

Sooo ... new T. Swift in 2014? Chalk that up to a big maybe.

Adele - After taking home more Grammys than she could carry in 2012, Adele for the most part laid low in 2013, taking a break to be a mom. She did add an Oscar to her ever expanding trophy case for the James Bond theme song, Skyfall.  Reports say to expect new music mid-2014.

Chris Brown - The release date for Brown's latest effort, X, has been pushed back at least three times now - (honestly, we've lost count). Brown released a mix tape in November to hold fans over. Surely 2014 is the year the full product finally sees the light of day.

No Doubt - The internet seems convinced No Doubt will release an album in 2014. The band wrote about "new music ... flowing with unexpected ease" in February 2013. But since then, bassist Tony Kanal and touring musician Gabrial McNair have added to their families and singer Gwen Stefani is pregnant with her third child. We don't want to rush good music. So, take care of those cute bundles and we'll be ready when you are.

Daft Punk to perform at the Grammys

French electronic duo Daft Punk is set to perform live on the upcoming 56th annual Grammys - the band's first live performance since the 2008 Grammys.

Six years ago, the duo performed Stronger alongside Kanye West.

Surprisingly, they did no live shows to support their comeback album Random Access Memories, which went on to become one of the top albums of 2013.

The already two-time Grammy Award-winning group is up for four Grammy Awards this year including Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album for Random Access Memories as well as Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Get Lucky, with Pharrell Williams.

The 56th Grammy Awards will air Sunday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Carly Rae Jepsen heading to Broadway

Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen is heading to Broadway.

The Call Me Maybe singer will take over the role of Cinderella in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella for 12 weeks starting on Feb. 4 and going through April 13, according to the Associated Press.

Jepsen will take the place of Laura Osnes and join the cast alongside former The Nanny actress Fran Drescher, who play's Cinderella's evil stepmother.

Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella is a contemporary take on the classic tale, adding new twists and humor to the original storyline that fans adore.

It's official - April 10th is Nirvana Day

2014 is already turning out to be a big year for Nirvana - not only are they set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10, but one small town has decided to honor their induction by naming the entire day after them.

Starting in 2014 the small town of Hoquiam, WA, will celebrate April 10 as Nirvana Day.

The town created the day to honor the band's frontman Kurt Cobain, who lived there briefly and was born just four miles away in Aberdeen.

"They bring great honor ... to our entire community. And I think that it's good Kurt Cobain lived in Hoquiam for a little while, but he and Krist Novoselic are part of our community, and I think it's good to honor our sons and their great accomplishments," Hoquiam Mayor Jack Durney told radio station KXRO.

Nirvana has sold more than 25 million albums in the U.S. and more than 75 million worldwide.

Other 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees include KISS, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens, and Linda Ronstadt.
