BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) - For the first time in almost six years, the United Way of the Lowcountry is on track to meet its fundraising goal, but they can't do it without you.
The non-profit organization passed its 90% mark this week thanks to the community's support.
Organizers kicked off the $2.3 million campaign back in September.
"We need to raise another $198,000, this is an extremely generous community and now is the moment folks, if you haven't made your pledge yet, please do join us," said Pamela Reading-Smith, Director of Philanthropy for the United Way of the Lowcountry.
The fundraising campaign will close out at the end of January but members believe, with the community's help, they can reach their goal by Dec. 31.
