SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Two separate accidents left two men in serious condition on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police's Major Accident Investigation Team officers are investigating two accidents that sent Patrick Ford of Rincon and Spencer Tracy Mason of Brunswick to Memorial University Medical Center.

Ford, 39, was walking on the sidewalk in front of the Firestone store on MLK Jr. Boulevard at West Broughton Street when he fell and was run over by a minivan. The incident occurred at 11 p.m. Tuesday when a 56-year-old Savannah woman was backing into a parking space and ran over Ford. He is being treated for broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Mason drove a red Lincoln Navigator into a median and struck a large oak tree. He was driving west on Montgomery Cross Road when he entered the median just east of Abercorn Street.

Mason was extricated from the vehicle by Savannah Fire and Rescue and is listed in critical condition.

Both accidents are still currently under investigation.
