CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A hotel manager charged with felony theft appeared on court on Thursday afternoon. Her bond was set at $5,500.

Janice Kay Talley was arrested Monday and charged with felony theft by taking. Records show Talley was arrested in 2009 on theft charges after $2,000 went missing from the hotel.

Robert Anderson, the property manager, reported her to authorities on Monday, according to records. Talley admitted to stealing $1,800 from the bag for her daughter's medical bills, according to records. Anderson said he counted the money and that $2,000 was missing.

Some residents claim they paid their rent to hotel manager Talley, but never got receipts and the money went missing. They said Talley is responsible.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said they are investigating claims that Talley was stealing guests' rent money. They are expecting to serve another warrant.

WTOC has not yet been able to confirm that the charge against Talley has anything to do with the missing rent money.
