CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The former manager accused of stealing $2,000, and rent money from the Guest House on Ogeechee Road is out of jail.

Janice Talley bonded out of the Chatham County Detention Center on Thursday night.

She was back at the Guest House on Friday morning cleaning out her room with a police escort.

WTOC also spoke with the property owner on Friday morning. Property Manager Robert Anderson told WTOC that he can't believe Talley would steal from him again.

Police said Talley was arrested in 2009 in connection theft of money from the Guest House on White Bluff Road. Anderson owns that property too.

He said he's the one who reported her to police back then. But Talley told him and police that her stepdaughter was the one who stole the money, not her.

Anderson said the charges in 2009 against Talley were dropped, so he re-hired her to manage the guest house on Ogeechee Road.

Then on Monday Anderson discovered $2,000 missing from the deposit bag. Talley was arrested a second time.

He said Talley is no longer allowed on property and he has no intentions of ever hiring her again.

WTOC was contacted earlier this week by residents who said they were being evicted because the money Talley stole was their rent money.

They said they were told by Anderson and the new manager that they must either repay the rent or leave. Anderson and the new manager said those claims are not exactly true.
