Five arrested in shot house raid

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Central Precinct Tactical Investigation Unit and Crime Suppression Unit officers arrested five suspects after officers raided a shot house on Barnard Street at 2 p.m. Friday.

Officers confiscated cash, drugs, drug paraphernalia, illegal alcohol and cigarettes and indentifying an illegal rooming house.

TIU and CSU officers were assited by patrol officers from the SCMPD Central Precinct, as well as inspectors from the City of Savannah's Zoning Division, Revenue Dept., Property Maintenance Dept. and Fire Marshal's Office through the interdepartmental Rooming House Task Force.

 TIU performed a week of uninterrupted surveillance  on the house, where officers noted drug sales and the illegal sale of alcohol. The investigation was initiated after police received neighborhood complaints about the house at Barnard and West 31 streets.

"We started 2014 off the same way we finished 2013," said Capt. DeVonn Adams, Central Precinct commander. "Our mission is to improve the quality of life in the Central Precinct. We are here to help people whenever and wherever we can, but we will continue to enforce the laws.This shot house not only was illegal, but it put innocent people at risk and robbed them of their sense of security. I am proud of the way our officers conducted this operation."

Bobby Ray Robinson, 32, was arrested on two counts of sale of a controlled substance/crack-cocaine.

Angel Gail Richardson, 53, was arrested on four counts of distributing, selling or otherwise dealing in alcohol without a license.

Eddie Snyder, 73, was arrested on three counts of distributing, selling or otherwise dealing in alcohol without a license.

Arsinio Larnon Robinson, 24, was arrested on two counts of sale of marijuana.

Rodney Jones, 57, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a drug related object.

Central detectives are still searching for Michael Anthony Kelsey, 54, who is being charged with sale of marijuana.
