New Year's baby in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

August William entered the world at 9:43 p.m. Jan. 1, 2014, the first baby of the new year in Glynn County.

Tiffany and Kyle Jurgens of Brunswick welcomed their first child, a 7 lb. 11 oz. boy. The child was born at Miriam  August follows in the footsteps of his great-uncle Chris, who was the 1964 New Year's baby in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

Each year, more than 1,300 babies are born at the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center.

August was one of two babies born on New Year's Day at the center.
