Remains found in Ogeechee River identified

Posted: Updated:
GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) -

The remains found in the Ogeechee River last month have been tentatively confirmed as that of a 21-year-old man who was reported missing in November.

Garden City police say they're basing the identification off dental records.

Joshua Burnsed was reported missing by his mother to Garden City police on Nov. 14. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation lab is continuing to investigate, and Garden City police are waiting for official confirmation from the GBI.

Burnsed's truck was found near King's Ferry where the bones were discovered.

Police are working to determine how he died.
