BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

A Hampton County Sheriff's deputy was arrested by Bluffton police Sunday for allegedly threatening his neighbors with a gun.

According to the police report, Johnnie Lee Bryant noticed a car parked in his yard on Sugar Maple Street and went to questions his neighbors about it.

Bryant told police that his neighbor's pitbull aggressively ran toward him when they opened the door, so he asked them to get the dog.  Bryant said he did grab his gun as the dog ran towards him, but he pointed it to the ground.

The neighbors told police a different story, saying Bryant started threatening them with a gun.

One witness told police they saw Bryant point the gun at the dog, while another witness said the neighbor's wife started shouting at Bryant and he challenged his wife to a fight.

According to the report, the neighbors said they would get their guns.

Bryant was arrested and charged with two felony counts of pointing a gun at a person.

Bryant was released from jail after posting bond Monday.

The Hampton County Sheriff's Cffice didn't comment on the incident.
