CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

School officials say they only have one complaint from November about a Gould Elementary School teacher accused of kicking and hitting a first-grader.

Seth Kolodny has been teaching at Gould for eight years he was suspended without pay for two months. The school board said they cannot find anything negative in his personnel file - not even a complaint.

WTOC was contacted by a grandparent who claims she complained to Gould's prinicipal about how her son was treated and that her complaints were ignored. She said she withdrew her son from Gould.

School officials say the only complaint in Kolodny's personnel file is from November. Jessica Creech claims Kolodny left a grapefruit-sized bruise on her 6-year-old son. She said she came to the school to bring her son his glasses and found him crying in a corner, saying he couldn't breathe.

"This was the first incident. Ultimately, it resulted in the fair dismissal hearing yesterday. But no, no prior incidents in his personnel file," said Savannah-Chatham County Public School System spokesman Kurt Hetager.

WTOC tried to get in touch with Gould's prinicipal and was told over the intercom at the school door that he wasn't there and they didn't know when he would return.
