Police search for 2nd person after woman shot on Forest Ridge Rd - WTOC-TV: Savannah, Beaufort, SC, News, Weather & Sports

Search continues for second person after woman shot in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

An investigation and search continue into Monday after a shooting in Savannah.

Officials have only released a few details about exactly what took place, but police say it all began late Sunday afternoon when two men knocked on the door of a home along Forest Ridge Road. They say the woman who lives there answered the door and was talking to the men when one of them suddenly opened fire and shot her.

"We don't know who had the gun or who didn't have the gun," said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham Metro Public Information Officer. "We don't know if the man who we have in custody is one of the men. They've just been detained. So, a lot of questions rather than answers at this point."

One person was taken into custody but the search continues for a second man, and even though police are not calling the man they are looking for a suspect, police do consider him armed and dangerous.

Police say the shooting victim was treated for minor injuries.

If you have any information about the shooting, call police.
