Public meetings on AMP begin this week

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Residents will have several chances to weigh in on the controversial AMP project this week.

The rapid bus transit line would run from West End to East Nashville and would cost the city about $51 million.

Supporters say it would improve transportation in the city, while opponents say it's too expensive and would tie up traffic downtown.

There are four public meetings on the project this week:

Monday

  • 5:30 p.m.
  • East Nashville
  • East Park Community Center theater
    600 Woodland Street

Tuesday

  • 5 p.m.
  • Downtown
  • Nashville Downtown Partnership
    150 4th Avenue N

Wednesday

  • 5:30 p.m.
  • Midtown
  • Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation (large conference room)
    2565 Park Plaza

Thursday

  • 5:30 p.m.
  • West Nashville
  • West End Middle School (cafeteria)
    3529 West End Avenue
