SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A trial continues for three robbery suspects. Investigators say Devante Bynes and Devon Tarver got away from the Savannah Transitional Center in May 2013. They and another man Josephewa Ramsey then robbed two people in Forsyth Park.

The men were captured after a foot chase that left a Savannah-Chatham Metro K-9 officer injured.

"I knelt down on my knees and I'm looking under with my gun and my light and at that time I see the second suspect actually fighting with my dog.  He kind almost was chocking, I guess he was trying to twist my dog's neck," said Chris Tucker, K9 handler of Flash.

A judge attempted to get suspects to testify, but they declined. The Defense tried to motion for acquittal - but that too was denied. The judge sent the jury home shortly so they can sleep on it.

Closing arguments are slated for Wednesday morning.
