ATHENS, GA (WTOC) -

It didn't take long for University of Georgia head coach Mark Richt to find Todd Grantham's replacement.

Jeremy Pruitt has been named as the Bulldogs new defensive coordinator.

Pruitt was the defensive coordinator for the 2014 BCS National Championship Florida State Seminoles.

The 39 year-old was in Athens on Tuesday meeting with Mark Richt and his staff.

It took Richt less than two days to make the hire after Grantham agreed to be the defensive coordinator for the Louisville Cardinals.

Pruitt spent 3 seasons at Alabama prior to his year at Florida State.  His defense at FSU ranked number one in scoring defense, with just over 12 points a game, and 3rd in total defense.

At Alabama in 2012, he was named recruiter of the year.

Pruitt was only with the Seminoles for one season before taking the job at Georgia.
