SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Ossabaw Island Foundation has honored a late Armstrong Atlantic State University history professor.

Dr. Mark Finlay was researching the environmental history of coastal Georgia with an emphasis on Ossabaw Island for a book when he was killed in a car wreck. The group honored him as an Ossabaw Fellow.

His work will also be the centerpiece for an environmental history symposium being organized by the group.
