Retired professor to speak at SSU's MLK Jr. observance

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A behavioral neuroscientist, writer, composer and educator will be the guest speaker at Savannah State Unversity's annual Martin Luther King Jr. observance on Thursday night.

Ja A. Jahannes Ph.D, retired from SSU as a professor of behavior analysis.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the King-Frazier Student Center ballroom. After the program, SSU Delta Eta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will honor the life of one of the fraternity's most distinguished members in an annual candlelight vigil at the front steps of the student center. Both events are free and open to the public.

Jahannes received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Lincoln University in Pa., two master's degrees from Hampton University and the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Delaware.
