Students at Esther Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts compete in a spelling bee Thursday morning.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
What a spelling bee Thursday
morning at Esther Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts. It took all
morning for fourth- through eighth-grade students spelled through high school
and college level lists.
They were tested on words
such as genoise, focaccia and alysium. Eighth-grader
Jacqueline Ellis finished a strong third. Alayna Bowen earned second and Alexis
Williamson won the event. Alexis goes on to the county bee. WTOC's Sonny Dixon called
the words and was utterly amazed at these students.
