Nearby surveillance video captures Blackhawk after landing

Surveillance video from a shop on White Bluff Road captures the emergency response in the seconds after a MH-60 Blackhawk made a hard landing Wednesday night at Hunter Army Airfield.

The owners really didn't know they had captured until they reviewed the video. The camera angle really focuses on the car lot in front of the office, but when emergency vehicles responded, lights could be seen from the distance.

Surveillence video for the Island Motorsport on White Bluff Road captured the seconds after a 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment MH-60 Blackhawk makes a hard landing at Hunter Army Airfield. One Night Stalker was killed and two were injured. The three soldiers are 3rd Battallion 160th members who are based out of Hunter.

"I was just surprised that we actually picked up something," said Brad Powers, co-owner of Island Motorsports.

Officials out of Fort Campbell, KY, where the Night Stalkers are based, say the aircraft was returning to hunter from a routine training.

"We've never actually taken anything that far out. I guess when you see lights that appear when its pitch black out there. It's going to show up within 2 or 3 miles well at least we got something that pulled up," he said.

Their names have not yet been released pending notification of family members.
