Metro police investigate shooting at MLK and Victory.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Metro police responded to a shooting on MLK Blvd in Savannah early Friday.
It happened around 3 a.m. on MLK Boulevard and Victory Drive. Officers say they heard shots and came out to find three cars with one male shot inside of one of those three vehicles.
WTOC spoke with Savannah-Chatham Metro's Julian Miller about what took place.
"A little after 3, we got a call from some of our officers who were working off-duty at the Island Breeze night club which is right around the corner. They heard some shots, came out here and found a small crowd around three cars parked behind me. In one of the cars was a young black male who had a gunshot wound and has been transported, it looks like with potentially life-threatening injuries," said Miller.
Marvin Hills, 24, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center.
Investigators are gathering evidence and talking to witnesses, but say they do not have a suspect at this time. They say they are not sure if all three cars were involved in the crime but are holding them for evidence.
Police had to close MLK Blvd. from Victory Dr to W 44th St. for over 3 hours to investigate. The road reopened to traffic at 7:50 a.m.
The investigation continues. If you know anything about the shooting, call police.
