HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF)
- Normally, WMBF News features suspects in the Horry
County's Most Wanted series that the Sheriff's Office is searching for, but this
week, we're looking for a man also wanted by U.S. Marshals.
The sheriff's office is calling on the
U.S. Marshal's Service because investigators say the crimes 40-year-old Molina
Leogragario is wanted for are really violent.
It all started back in May of 2007 with
a case of criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Then, on New Year's Day, police
say he violently beat up his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.
Seven years ago, police say he entered
a 14-year-old girl's bedroom and sexually assaulted her. The police report
states that he took off the girl's clothes while she was sleeping, bit her on
her thighs, kissed and fondled her, and offered to buy her a computer if she
Leogragario was never arrested for
that incident. He became one of more than 22,000 people in the system on the
run in Horry County, but police believe he's back -- and authorities are
"The U.S. Marshals Task Force -
we are able to use them because they have some tools that our warrants division
would not normally have," said Sgt. Jeff Benton with HCSO.
On New Year's Day, a new police report
names Leogragario as a suspect. Police believe he broke into his
ex-girlfriend's home and went on a bloody rampage with some sort of cutting
tool. He allegedly started punching and kicking the ex-girlfriend while she
slept in bed with her boyfriend, who tried to fight back. Both suffered several cuts to the head, face
"He's committed a crime and this person should
be considered a dangerous individual," Sgt. Benton said.
The U.S. Marshals say Leogragario does
masonry work and last lived at an address off Socastee Boulevard. They say he
often drives an older white Mustang that has a black top and chrome rims. They
also suspect he's still in the area.
"He's been here as recently as less than a month
ago and somebody in Horry County knows where he is," Sgt. Benton said.
If you know or have seen Molina Leogragario, contact
the Horry County Sheriff's Office with your information, and remember: no tip
