Savannah's 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Observance Day Parade

Feed the Hungry MLK, Jr. Day Community Dinners
There are two community dinner events planned. There will be hot meals, live entertainment, health screenings and free haircuts offered.
Jan. 18 at 2pm – Family Life Center, 4011 Augusta Rd, Garden City
Jan. 20 at 2pm – Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club, 601 Brewer St, Savannah

The Savannah Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Day Association will celebrate 35 years of recognizing the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 2014 by hosting The Express-Success, an education, career, and health fair.

Ft. Pulaski honors MLK, Jr. Day with FREE Admission!
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Fort Pulaski National Monument will offer a free day of admission.

MLK Day of Service
Georgia Power employees in the Savannah area will commemorate the MLK Day of service by volunteering with the Salvation Army at its emergency shelter for women and children. Volunteers expect to clean and repair flooring as well as work with kitchen staff on lunch and dinner preparations for homeless and impoverished citizens.

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King Day state holiday. Please remember that the days before and after a holiday are often extremely busy at DMV.


Beaufort's Annual MLK, Jr. Day Parade
WHEN: Jan. 20, 10am
WHERE: Bay Street, Downtown Beaufort, SC

All Beaufort County Government offices will be closed Jan. 20, 2014 in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. These closures also include all County Library Branches and all Solid Waste Convenience Centers. All offices will resume normal operating hours Jan. 21, 2014.
