Students in the Firefighter and Public Safety patheway at Woodville-Thompkins Technical and Career High School got the chance to participate in real-life drills.
Members of the Southside Fire Dept. and the Isle of Hope Fire Dept. teamed up Friday to teach the students forcible entry, survival and rescue training.
The students say it was a different experience than the classroom setting.
"You think it is going to be a lot easier to try and work with your partner and coordinate getting someone out of a wall will be no problem, but actually having to do it is a completely different story," said student Spencer Brown.
The exercise was conducted at Isle of Hope K-8 school, which is scheduled to be demolished under ESPLOST construction.
