Beaufort police investigate shooting that killed Seabrook man

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and Beaufort Police Department are investigating the death of a Seabrook man.

Officials say 27-year-old Tyrice Washington was shot on Saturday night.

A news release states that someone dropped Washington off at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and then drove off.

According to Captain Bob Bromage, a white Chevrolet Tahoe was stopped by Beaufort police within minutes at the intersection of Hwy. 21 and 170. He said police noticed a handgun sitting in plain sight inside the car, and were able to prove that the driver, Quinton Delaney Jr., was the one who dropped Washington off at the hospital.

Delaney was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun and unlawful possession of a hangun with an obliterated serial number.
