RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC) -

Girl Scout Troop 30022 in Richmond Hill hosted Wounded Warrior Princess Day at Salon 17 Monday.

The warriors got to choose a haircut and style and also received a makeover.

The event allows the girl scouts to earn the Silver Award, the highest award a cadette can earn.

They say they couldn't think of a better way to say thank you to our veterans.

"We noticed in the paper, wounded warriors, we saw this fishing rodeo, but it was only for men, and we've seen all kinds of stuff like that and we thought, ‘why isn't there anything for women?', so we started brain storming suggestions and it came out," said Girl Scout Hannah Yontz.

Professional cosmetologists volunteered their services for this event.

Complimentary refreshments, goodie bags and photos were also provided.
