GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance identifying a person they believe is connected with an armed robbery at an ATM at Cherrydale.

Deputies said they were called to the bank on State Park Road just after 9:10 p.m. on Monday about the armed robbery.

According to deputies, two men approached the victim while he was withdrawing money and one of them was armed with a gun. Deputies said one of the people pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the victim withdraw a large amount of cash.

The victim told the men the bank would not allow such a large transaction. The victim then attempted to withdraw the money, but it was declined.

The victim was then robbed of his wallet and the men fled on foot.

Deputies said there was a report of an armed robbery at the Olive Garden restaurant across the street a little later Monday night, but they have not said if the cases were related.

The sheriff's office asks anyone with information on the incident or the person in the photos to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
