SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Companies in Georgia needed to apply for the 2014 Top 40/Top 10 Innovative Companies in Georgia.

The Technology Association of Georgia is now accepting applications for the 2014 Top 40/Top 10 Innovative Companies in Georgia. Companies from the Savannah area and others from around the state are encouraged to apply.

"It's been a great year for our local technology sector," said Jerald Mitchell, director of Emerging Industry at the Savannah Economic Development Authority, in a statement. "I am hoping that we will be well represented among the state's Top 40 Innovative Companies with at least five or more applicants from the Savannah area this year."

The Top 40 companies are selected on criteria including: degree of innovation, scope and financial impact of innovation, likelihood of success, and promotion of Georgia's innovative efforts nationally and internationally. Eligible Georgia-based companies that focused on the development and dissemination of technology are being considered.

Companies who make the Top 40 will be showcased in an exhibition at the 2014 Georgia Technology Summit. Top 10 companies will be asked to present at the 2014 Georgia Technology Summit, which will be held March 26 at the Cobb Galleria Center. The summit is expected to draw a crowd of more than 1,000 C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia.

Applications must be submitted by Feb. 7. Interested companies may apply at: https://tagonline.wufoo.com/forms/qupn7i40xffvrq/.
