ECEMA opens warming center to help deal with cold

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Temperatures are extremely cold outside, and for the first time, the Effingham County Emergency Management Agency has opened up a warming center to help deal with the cold. 

The center opened around 6 p.m. Thursday and will remain open until 8 a.m. Friday.

Officials are planning to reopen the center again Friday at 6 p.m. In fact, they say they plan to open the center anytime the temperatures drop below 30 degrees. 

The warming center is located at the Effingham County Sheriff's Office substation at 2696 U.S. Highway 80, Bloomingdale, GA 31302 directly across from the Bloomingdale Flea Market.
