The Town of Bluffton designated no parking areas
along Calhoun Street in November with painted striping and an added four-way
stop at the intersection of Lawrence and Calhoun streets.
Since those changes were implemented, the
Bluffton Police Department has monitored the changes and says they have issued
approximately 200 warnings to citizens about their parking.
Officials say the most common violation involves
people parking their vehicles over onto the sidewalk area. There is no raised
curbing there so they ask that motorists be conscious of the markings and avoid
obstruction of the sidewalk.
