ELLABELL, GA (WTOC) -

A 16-year-old boy was hit and killed while walking alongside Eldora Road in Ellabell.

It happened about 7 p.m. Georgia State Patrol troopers say the teen was walking with another 16-year-old, when a pick-up truck came from the opposite direction, tried to pass a car, and swerved onto the grass, hitting and killing one of the teens.

The police say charges are pending against he 24-year-old who was at the wheel of that pick-up. The boy's family has been notified, but the GSP is not yet realeasing his name.
