BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened Jan. 26 in Bluffton.

Sheriff's deputies met with a 20-year-old male and his 25-year-old girlfriend about an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The victims said they were robbed at gunpoint by an unknown black male in the Bufflehead Lane area of Bluffton.

The male victim said he was trying to sell a handgun he originally purchased for his girlfriend. He arranged to meet with a friend who expressed interest in buying the gun at Bufflehead Lane at approximately 6:15 p.m.

The victims were met by the male victim's friend and another unidentified black male.

The victim handed the weapon for the box to his friend, keeping the weapon in his lap. His friend reached into the vehicle and took the gun away from the victim. The second subject then brandished his own firearm and told the victims to leave.

Both suspects fled the area on foot toward a wooded area. Both victims were unharmed.

The stolen weapon is described as a SCCY Industries 9mm valued at $300.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with additional information to contact Investigator Cpl. W. Conant at 843-255-3424 or Crimestoppers.
