SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

It's an old coaching adage, "Never let a loss beat you twice."

That's the scenario for Savannah State as the tigers are coming off their first MEAC loss of the season, as they play host to Norfolk State.

On Monday night in Tiger Arena, SSU had a tough time in the starting minutes of the game.

The game ended up belonging to the Spartans, Norfolk States wins, 56-49. The tigers have droppedtheir second game in a row in conference play.

Also on Monday, Savannah State took time to honor it's baseball program with a ring ceremony.

The tigers won the MEAC tournament title last season with a 33-23 overall record.  They also played in the Talahassee Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

Head Coach Carlton Hardy was the Coach of the Year in the MEAC, and has over 200 wins at Savannah State.
