CrimeStoppers Boston Butt fund-raiser underway

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

CrimeStoppers is partnering again with Smoke Station for their fund-raiser.

The Boston Butts are $25 and can be purchased by calling 912.652.3560 or in the fundraising section of the CrimeStoppers website before Jan. 31.

Walk-up sales will be from noon-6 p.m. Jan. 31 and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Smoke Station at 6724 Waters Ave.

"We count on the community to give us support through the media - and sponsors. We don't have a large discretionary fund that we can use- and sponsorships really help us get the word out," said Gianna Nelson, interim director of CrimeStoppers.

All proceeds from the fund-raiser will benefit the CrimeStoppers Reward Fund. Monies raised are used to pay anonymous tipsters who provide tips that result in an arrest. In 2013, the CrimeStoppers Board of Directors approved $25, 300 in rewards.
