Former Metro officer claims retaliation for DUI stop

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A former Savannah-Chatham Metro officer has sent an "intent-to-sue" letter to the city, marking the 11th such letter sent by an officer in four months.

All 11 are represented by attorney William Claiborne.

In her letter, Officer Amber Davis claims she was demoted when she refused to "help out" Capt. Devonn Adams' cousin when Davis responded to a wreck in which that cousin was cited for driving under the influence.

Adams was Davis' boss.

The city has not commented on any of the letters.

Claiborne has yet to file any lawsuits.
