Crimes detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept. continue to
investigate a shooting of a Savannah man early Friday morning.
Police said Eliakim
Dunbar, 26, was found at about 2:51 a.m. Friday shot in a car that had
overturned and crashed into the guard station at the Marriott Hotel on General
he was driving east on Bay Street and General McIntosh Boulevard when
someone in a vehicle began shooting at his car. Police said detective believe
the shooter had singled out his vehicle.
Dunbar was taken
to Memorial University Medical Center. Police said he refused to cooperate with
police and checked himself out of the hospital.
