Two South Georgians are "Voice" hopefuls

Two South Georgia performers stopped by WALB today on their way to Nashville.  They're auditioning for the NBC show The Voice Sunday.

Wayne Waddell and James Holmes have been performing together for 15 years and are members of Country Road 12.

They're auditioning as a duo and Waddell is also trying out as a solo artist.

"I've had people, ever since the Voice came out they told me that I could turn four chairs.  And it's just to see if it really is all the bliss is talking, if they really think that I've got it. Just to do something with my music," said Waddell.

"We sing in front of people every weekend just about. The singing part is not what's bothering me.  It's what other people are going to think is really what bothers me. I'm more excited than nervous really," said Holmes.

Waddell is from Iron City and Holmes is from Colquitt.  They'll perform an original song at their audition.  They hope to be invited back to the next round in Nashville in two weeks.
