WASHINGTON (POOL/CNN) - Janet Yellen makes history Monday morning, when she is sworn in as the first female chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank.
The public swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. EST.
Yellen officially took over the office on Saturday, replacing ben Bernanke.
She's been a member of the Fed Board of Governors since 1994.
As chair, Yellen will direct economic policy for the U.S. Central Bank.
