SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Officer Trina Mayes lost her appeal over her firing in a hearing with City Manager Stephanie Cutter.

WTOC has learned that her attorney was not allowed inside the hearing.

"We remain optimistic, but given that her attorney is not being allowed inside, my optimism is diminishing," said Will Claiborne, Mayes' attorney before the hearing.

Mayes is the officer who brought sexual harassment allegations against Chief Willie Lovett late last year. Her attorney says the firing is retaliation.

But the city says she dated a known felon and lied about it and that's why she's being fired.
