The National Weather Service out of Jacksonville, FL, has issued a tornado drill for Friday morning.
There will be a required weekly test issued during 9 a.m. Feb. 7 on NOAA Weather Radio to serve as the alert for the tornado drill.
When the alert is sounded, the NWS recommended that people practice the emergency plan they have in place.
In order to see when the drill begins, the NWS suggests looking for a weekly test alert to scroll on the NOAA radio.
There are some radio stations that do not sound an alert for the test, so even if you don't hear it, practice the drill anyway.
The all-clear for the drill will sound at 9:30 a.m.
It's important to remember that during an actual severe weather event, an alert tone will sound on radios and televions.
