Jeep crashes through motel in Hinesville

Posted: Updated:

Motel 6/Liberty Inn & Suites has been partially evacuated by the Hinesville Fire Dept. after a Jeep drove through the building.

Hinesville Police Traffic Investigator Lt. Bill Kirkendall said the driver of a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon plowed into two rooms of the Motel 6 at 10:41 a.m. in the 200 block of General Screven Way.

Kirkendall said the rooms were unoccupied. The driver who has not been identified was not injured. He was extricated from the vehicle due to debris hanging over and on the vehicle. He told police that he passed out due to a medical condition.

This isn't the first time a car has driven into the Motel 6. A car once went through the motel's dining room.
