EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The trial for a woman charged with helping to conceal the gruesome murder of 35-year-old Charlie Ray in Effingham County got underway Wednesday morning.

Officials say Kimberly Moretz helped to conceal the death of Ray who was actally killed by her husband, Chad.

Deputies found Ray's dismembered body inside of Moretz Effingham County home and more was found in a storage shed Moretz rented across the state line in Jasper County, South Carolina.

Several days after the murder, Chad was shot and killed during a standoff with authorities at his Rincon home in January 2013.

A jury was previously selected for the Moretz trial, which is expected to run Feb. 5-8.

Day one of the trial began Wednesday morning with the state and prosecution discussing which evidence will be admissible in court and opening arguments are expected to begin shortly.
