Opening arguments kicked off Wednesday in the case of a Rincon woman who's charged with concealing a man's death.

The prosecution told the jury that there is evidence that shows Kim Moretz concealed the death of 35-year-old Charlie Ray.

The defense said they are going to prove that Moretz was threatened by her husband Chad Moretz to not say anything to police. The defense said she is also a victim in this case who was subjected to physical and mental abuse by her husband.

An investigator with SCMPD was the first witness to take the stand. The jury was able to listen to the initial phone conversations police had with Kim Moretz after Ray was reported missing.

During those phone conversations, Moretz says she does not know anything about Ray's disappearance. Moretz says she last saw him on New Years when she dropped him off at a gas station in downtown Savannah.
