Officials expecting fewer flight delays, cancellations

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Fewer flights are expected to be canceled Thursday in the U.S. because of snow and freezing rain in the northeast and Midwest.

About 2,900 flights were canceled Wednesday, making it the third consecutive day of scrapped flights due to the weather. Most of the cancellations were from airports in the New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington areas.

If you have plans of flying Thursday, you may want to check the flight tracker for Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport online first for flight status. Click here to check for cancellations and delays.
