EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

It's the last day of Kim Moretz's trial.

The defense called their final witness, a social worker from Atlanta testified on her experience when she evaluated Kim Moretz.

The social worker says Moretz suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Battered Person Syndrome from the physical and mental abuse she endured from her husband Chad Moretz.

Closing arguments followed this final testimony. Defense Attorney Michael Schiavone told the jury that Kim Moretz is also a victim in this case. He says Effingham County deputies failed to protect Moretz after responding to reports of domestic violence prior to the murder of Charlie Ray.

Assistant DA Brian Deal reminded the jury of how Moretz first lied to police about Charlie Ray and then later admitting that she was there when Ray was murdered.

Deal also says even though Moretz has been diagnosed with anxiety disorders; that does not excuse her for not saying anything to police about Ray.

Superior Court Judge Peed read the jury Kim Moretz's charges. She faces the charge of concealing the death of another, hindering the apprehension of a criminal and tampering with evidence.
