PEMBROKE, GA (WTOC) -

A deadly shooting investigation continues in Pembroke.

It happened Wednesday at a house on Bowers Street. Police say 23-year-old Joshua McKinney was shot in the head. Three other men, who were inside when the incident occurred, told police that McKinney was playing Russian roulette and shot himself. They reported that McKinney dropped a bullet into the gun, spun the chamber and placed the gun to his head and fired, according to a police news release.

Police said a search warrant was obtained and a .38-caliber handgun was found in the home during the search. Police said it was the gun used in the shooting.

McKinney died Thursday morning. His body has been sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

The fatal shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information can contact Investigator Kelly Price or CrimeStoppers.
