TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital after being involved in an accident in southwest Tyler Saturday evening.

Tyler Police tell us after 7 p.m. Saturday the accident occurred at the intersection of 7th street and Frankston Highway in Tyler.

Authorities say a vehicle pulled onto Frankston from 7th street and failed to yield to the oncoming motorcycle which was traveling north.

It is not yet clear if the motorcyclist slid into the oncoming vehicle or hit it full speed, but officials say the motorcycle and the vehicle did collide.

The motorcyclist was transported to a Tyler hospital with serious injuries, but the exact condition of that person is not yet known. Tyler Police tell us the vehicle that failed to yield fled the scene.
